You are here:
The molecular cancer research centre of the Charité - MKFZ – was founded end of 2006 by the Charité and represents a central research facility of the medical school Charité located at the Campus Virchow-Klinikum. It represents a scientific platform for research groups focusing on molecular cancer research receiving their third-party funding by individual or joint research projects. The MKFZ aims to strengthen the scientific profile of molecular and translational cancer research at the Charité by creating an attractive environment for high-quality science in cancer research and by organising seminars, offering further education and conferences for scientists and interested persons. Moreover, the MKFZ wants to support the integration and networking of clinical and experimental cancer researchers at the Charité also with external research centres in the Berlin area, thus stimulating the initiation of future joint research projects. An additional important mission is the promotion and education of young researchers to obtain their doctoral degree (international graduate school) and the support of highly qualified young investigators by facilitating their integration into current joint research projects.
